Irish-Finnish Society's goal is to encourage and promote friendship, knowledge and understanding between the Finns and the Irish and to maintain contacts between Finns living in Ireland.
The Society was founded in 1978, and it currently has about 150 family and individual members. The Society is run by a committee which is elected at the annual meeting in January or February.
The Society organises various events, such as movie nights, pub quizzes, outdoor events, ladies' nights, and the Finnish calendar of celebrations (Independence Day, May Day and Midsummer). The Society has an annual membership fee. In addition, Irish-Finnish Society is involved in the activities of the Finnish Kids’ Club and the Finnish School in Dublin.
