Winter War memorial

A memorial is to be dedicated in Korpilahti, Central Finland to the service of those British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens who volunteered to serve in the Finnish Army during the Winter War of 1940. A brief ceremony will take place on Monday, 7 September this year and the organizers are searching for any surviving members, or their immediate relatives, who would like to attend. If you were, or your relative was one of the group of 227 men in the Sisu Detatchment and would like to attend, please contact matti.hyvarinen@innoverkko.com or graham.burns@finn-guild.org as soon as possible.
